Green Tourmaline
Green tourmalines are an underrated, and undervalued member of the family. Green tourmalines come in emerald green and every shade of green from the wispiest mint pastels, to olives, to dark, almost-black, forest greens. They are found in multiple locations around the world including Africa, Afghanistan, Brazil and North America. In fact, some of the world's finest green tourmaline comes from Maine. Tourmalines of all colors are durable gemstones. They can be used in all jewelry applications and are appropriate for long-term daily wear.

Green Tourmaline or Emeralds?
Emerald fans should know that fine green tourmalines are purchased at a fraction of the price of fine emeralds. It is very unusual to find emeralds with good clarity. It is much more common to find tourmalines that are less included.

Cuprian tourmalines, also called Paraibas, contain copper that causes their colors to have a special, almost radioactive glow.
Chrome tourmalines contain chrome and are some of the brightest and most vivid green gemstones available.
Watermelon Tourmalines are cut from crystals with centers of pink and exteriors of green. Sliced horizontally they look like a delicious piece of melon made of emeralds and rubies.
Thanks for the comment. I like black tourmaline, or schorl, too! As for Cuprian tourmaline, be aware that some of it has been irradiated or heated to achieve it's color. It may no longer have the right "energy" for holistic/metaphysical applications. Tourmaline does, though, have a natural energetic charge. It was once used to clean the ash out of pipes. If you rub it will hold a small static charge

thankyou. I use black tourmaline in my water bottle as a negative ioniser. It is a protective stone and great for warding off negativity.
I am interested in the Cuprian tourmaline, as I like copper as a protective element.
